Initial Capability Review
We collect capability documentation and certifications. We review their process for handling tolerances, finishes, and inspection requirements relevant to our customer parts.
Capability Gap Assessment
We map their documented capabilities against the types of parts we manage. If there are gaps, we either don’t qualify them for those part types or flag them as limited-scope suppliers.
First Order Validation
New suppliers don’t get production orders immediately. Their first part goes through the full First Article process with heightened review. We treat this as a live capability test.
Ongoing Performance Tracking
After qualification, we track delivery performance, documentation quality, and batch conformance. Suppliers who don’t maintain standards are removed from active use.

Do you require ISO certification from suppliers?
Yes. ISO certification is reviewed for scope and applicability — not just presence. Suppliers must also demonstrate internal inspection processes, batch documentation capability, and a defined process for handling non-conforming parts regardless of their certification status.
Why does supplier qualification matter for repeat parts?
Most repeat component supply failures do not come from bad manufacturing — they come from using suppliers who were never properly qualified for the job. Supplier qualification establishes a verified baseline before a customer part is ever produced, which is what makes repeat orders predictable.
